Woman from eMbalenhle aims for the Miss Eagle South Africa crown
Help Mashiachidi Kgaugelo bring the title home by voting for her.
Mashiachidi Kgaugelo (20) is happy and proud to be part of the Miss Eagle South Africa Pageant.
Born and bred in eMbalenhle, Mashiachidi completed matric at the Thomas Nhlabathi Secondary School in 2016.
She was determined to make her dream of becoming a professional model come true after matric and joined a modelling academy for 10 months.
After completing the course, she searched for pageants online and came across the Miss Eagle South Africa Pageant.
This is a women’s empowerment pageant that empowers young women to grow and develop themselves by making a positive impact in the community.
“I have always believed in giving back to the community and to make a difference in the lives of others. I think the time has come for me to take a huge step. It is most of the time difficult to accomplish your dreams if you come from a very small township like mine. It hurts to see young people throwing away their dreams because of the little support that we get from our society.”
Mashiachidi is committed to rise above her circumstances.
“This pageant is tough and I cannot progress without the support of my community.”
She said the pageant has four stages, namely contestant, brand ambassador, semi-finalist and finalist.
Mashiachidi said there are four levels of this contest namely: Contestant, Brand Ambassador, Semi – finalist and Finalist.
She is in the semi-finals and hopes and trust God that she will go through to the finals.
“The journey for this title has not been easy as there are hundreds and hundreds of contestants competing for the title. I am so happy that I managed to get through all of these levels and am a semi finalist. Being a semi finalist is a great achievement and I am prepared to work hard.
“At times I felt like giving up and letting go, but then I realised how far I have come and that an Eagle woman rather tries and fails a thousand times than be a coward and quit.
“I am now a brand ambassador for Motofind.co.za. I also discovered other things that I did not realise I had and I am writing a book called The Journey is Never Easy.”
If she goes through as a finalist, she will represent the province on national level.
To vote for her, SMS Kgaugelo to 35334. An SMS costs R3.
