Musa’s gospel show is coming to eMzinoni soon
Musawenkosi will perform with his friends on Saturday, 13 October at the Apostolic Faith Mission.
eMZINONI – Musawenkosi Phungwayo of GBR Worship will host the “Better is One day in His Court” gospel show on Saturday, 13 October in Cow Village at the Apostolic Faith Mission Church.
Other artists who will feature are Dudu Makhoba, Tumelo Mashabela and Zodwa Mahlangu who will sing from the iCilongo le Vangeli, a Zulu hymn book.
The event begins at 5pm and tickets cost R100 per person.
Musawenkosi hails from eMzinoni and serves at the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa under the leadership of Past E.S. and first lady, D. Mokwena.
He began singing in the teenagers’ choir of the church at the age of 13 and later joined the Millennium Project that united churches in and around Bethal.
“God opened more doors for me and I have performed alongside big names, such as Sejacufe, and I also took part in a regional jazz festivals with the likes of Bongani Mtshali and Jama.
“I have worked with artists such as Zodwa Mahlangu of Joyous Celebration who will be part of the line-up on the day.”
Musawenkosi studied internal auditing at the Vaal University of Technology where he was later appointed head of the music department in 2009.
He later returned to serve in the church in the worship team.
Musawenkosi joined GBR Worship in 2017 shortly after the release of their first project, which is available on all digital platforms.
He urged locals to support the event and said the show will bridge the gap between young and old with his rendition of iCilongo le Vangeli, which he has become synonymous with over the last two years.
