Department of Education offers support to learners
Mr Majuba also requested parents to support their children by providing tools to enable them to use this support during the lockdown period.
The provincial Department of Education issued a press release on 30 March about support to learners.
Radio lessons can be listened to on Ligwalagwala FM, Ikwekwezi FM and 16 community stations weekdays from 1 April.
Parents will also be guided on Radio Pulpit, Rise FM, Radio Kragbron, Radio Laeveld, Ikwekwezi and Ligwalagwala FM from Mondays to Thursdays.
The department’s e-learning provides recorded lessons, previous question papers as well as educational material.
A dial-a-tutor programme, at no cost, is expected to be up and running from 6 April. A team of experts will be available from 9am to 3pm.
The support caters for all learners from General Education and Training Phase to Further Education and Training Phase.
“Take advantage of these platforms to enrich your learning experience,” Mr Bonakele Majuba, MEC for the department, requested.
