Come drink for a cause at Lake Umuzi Brewing Company in Secunda
The MC Foundation is a non-profitable organisation who provides students with a study subsidy.
SECUNDA – Lake Umuzi Waterfront will be the hub of fun activities for young and old this weekend.
At The Lake Umuzi Brewing Company, you can drink for a cause during the first ever Beer-a-Thon on Saturday, 27 March.
This is an event to help raise funds for the MC Foundation.
The MC Foundation is a non-profitable organisation that provides students with a subsidy.
This organisation prides itself on the fact that 100 percent of the donated money will be used to fund the higher education of a student.
They provide students with a subsidy of R 50 000 per annum, and the student will forfeit their subsidy if all subjects are not passed on the first try.
Juandré van Niekerk from Hoërskool Secunda was identified by Lake Umuzi Waterfront and was assisted by the MC Foundation with a subsidy towards his studies in BCom Actuarial Science.
Lake Umuzi and the MC Foundation are now raising funds for Tiné Neü (18), whose father is currently working for Denel and due to mismanagement of the company have not received a salary for a substantial amount of time.
Tiné is a bright and energetic young woman who obtained seven distinctions with an average above 90 percent on her matric certificate.
She will be studying for her BCom in Forensic Accountancy at North West University in Potchefstroom.
For every beer bought from Lake Umuzi Brewing Company, they will donate R10 and Lake Umuzi Waterfront will donate R10.
The goal is to sell 1000 hand-crafted beers.

Hoërskool Oosterland will be turning a mini golf open into a major championship at Rocky Waters at Lake Umuzi Waterfront from 26 to 27 March.
A total of R5 000 cash is up for grabs in prize money, and loads of spot prizes.
Anyone between the ages of three and 100 years can go and test their putting skills during this event.
