Man slit woman’s throat during an argument in Carolina
Zikalala accompanied the police to the scene behind Silobela Stadium where he pointed out the body of the victim.
Zikalala Emanuel Freddy (25) was sentenced in the Mpumalanga High Court in Middelburg on 3 May to 15 years’ imprisonment for murder.
According to Sgt Thabang Mokwana, spokesman for Carolina Police, Zikalala murdered his girlfriend on 3 March 2019.
“On the day of the incident, Zikalala who was 23 years old at the time, reported to the Carolina Police that he killed his girlfriend, Ms Siphesihle Gracious Myeni.”
Zikalala accompanied the police to the scene behind Silobela Stadium where he pointed out the body of the victim.
She had stab wounds to her head and face, and her throat was slit with a knife.
She was certified dead by paramedics at the scene.
Zikalala was arrested after he confessed that he killed her during an argument.
He pleaded guilty in court.
