TV weekly must watch

We’ve rounded up three great shows you should keep an eye out for this week.

Start with a comedy-drama that follows the warm-hearted, wheeler-dealing adventures of an iconic family in the idyllic Kent countryside. Then get ready for the return of a mega-stacked super team of young heroes. Or watch a shocking doccie that explores the origins, extent, and fallout of one of the most devastating public health tragedies of our time.

The Larkins is set in the 1950s and follows a working-class family led by “golden-hearted wheeler-dealer” Pop Larkin and his wife Ma. The couple has six children including the beautiful Mariette, who the series focuses on as we discover her romance with village newcomer Cedric “Charley” Charlton. Charley initially comes to the village to investigate the Larkins’ tax affairs but soon gets distracted! Each member of the family has a strong work ethic and a disinterest in authority, which makes for plenty of laughs and drama across the series. Watch The Larkins from December 9 on BritBox.

The BritBox app is now available on Android TV, including enabled Smart TVs, Google Chromecast with GoogleTV, Nvidia Shield, MiBox and MiStick, plus Android and Apple mobile/tablets, FireTV, Samsung Smart TV and LG Smart TV. Enjoy one week’s free trial, sign up at R99.99 per month and register for email updates at britbox.com/za/.

Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find where they belong. In season three, circumstances draw our heroes to Gotham City, where they will reunite with old friends and face new threats. Catch The Titans from December 8 on Netflix.

In The Crime of the Century, whistleblowers, insiders, newly leaked documents, behind-the-scenes access to investigations and exclusive interviews offer insights into Big Pharma, political operatives and governmental regulations that affected the distribution of synthetic opiates. Watch it now on Showmax.
