Three appear in Volksrust court for possession of R558 000 worth of dagga

The case has been postponed to June 18.

Three men appeared in the Volksrust District Court on June 12, facing charges of dealing in drugs after being arrested with 93kg of marijuana.

Nhlakanipho Khumalo (30), Ernest Zondo (39) and Zephrid Hlongwane (36) were arrested by Wakkerstroom police in the early morning hours.

During a routhine stop-and search operation, the trio were stopped in their silver Toyota Corolla; police discovered four large bags of marijuana inside the vehicle.

The 93kg bags are estimated to have a street value of R558 000.

The Volksrust District Court ruled the suspects remain in custody until their next appearance on June 18.
