Blood service awards businesses and organisations at function in Secunda

Bethal CPF and Secunda Round Table shine at function.

The local branch of the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) hosted its site contact function at Lake Umuzi on May 23.

The Secunda artist Rhona van Niekerk entertained the audience with her music, and the Musiekpret/Boombox group let the audience play music games.

Dot Prinsloo, Donor Relations Practitioner at SANBS in Secunda, spoke about the importance of donating blood and mobile blood drives.

The Bethal Community Policing Forum (CPF) won the best community project of the year award, and its chairman, Jaap Pretorius, received it.

The best primary school of the year award went to Laerskool Onverwacht in Kriel and the best school of the year award went to Jim van Tonder School in Bethal.

The blood drive of the year award was snatched up by the Round Table 231 branch in Secunda.

The blood service handed out small gifts to everybody attending the event and congratulated the winning businesses and organisations.
