Eleven-year-old Edward Harding, a Grade 5 learner at Laerskool Muldersdrif, has made waves with his performing arts and the awards he has been racking up in the last few weeks.

The local youngster took part in the South African Championships of Performing Arts, run by Dr Ellen Roux in Rustenburg recently.

For the fifth year in a row he was selected to represent the SA team that will take part in the World Championship in Los Angeles, USA in 2023.

Edward won 15 gold, 10 silver and two bronze medals during the championships.

He also walked away as winner of the Triple Threat Award.

This is awarded to the performer who participates in at least three different genres and scores the most gold medals. Edward scored in Acting, Modelling and Vocals.

Edward competed against 3 000 performers and with his award and medal tally he proved to himself that hard work does produce the results.

The sky’s the limit for this youngster, who not only excels in drama, but also enjoys his rugby, cricket and athletics.
