The principal of Pathways Roodepoort, Fay Bjornstad describes Prominent Paints’ contribution to the makeover process of the centre’s new home as a blessing.

This after the well-established paint manufacturer generously donated paint and equipment to paint the entire home, as well as the boundary walls and fences. On Saturday 1 June Pathways relocated from Roodekrans to Horizon View, as the centre urgently required more space.

Bjornstad says, “We managed to find a large home on Ontdekkers Road to accommodate all the pupils. Our new home was in need of a makeover and Prominent Paints jumped on board to help. It was a very special day for all.”

“Prominent Paints kindly has brought lots of colour and cheer to this special centre. The painting of the centre is going well. The walls are now coming to life with beautiful bright flowers, bees and butterflies.”

The centre was further delighted having received additional monetary donations and gifts from the community.

“We would like to thank all the sponsors and donors involved,” the principal says.

Bjornstad explains, “Pathways Roodepoort is a non-profit organisation that provides love, care, stimulation and therapy to children and young adults with severe disabilities.

“The centre relies on the support from the community to continue thriving and hosts various fundraisers during the year to raise much-needed funds to cover the running costs of the organisation.

“Pathways Roodepoort truly appreciates the wonderful support they receive from the community and would like to thank all volunteers, sponsors, donors and friends that go the extra mile for children with disabilities.”

Upcoming fundraisers at Pathways Roodepoort to take note of:

• Quiz Evening on Saturday 27 July – it will be a fun and exciting evening and teams of six to eight members can be booked. Tickets are R100 per person and include soup and a drink.

• Casual Day on Friday 6 September – Support the centre by buying your Casual Day sticker from Pathways Roodepoort.
