A strong show of support unfolded outside the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on April 22, as community members and various organisations gathered in solidarity with the family of a 12-year-old child allegedly sexually assaulted by a prominent Dobsonville community leader.

The incident, reported to have taken place during the Easter holidays, has sparked widespread outrage and drawn national attention.

The accused is expected to appear in court for a second time today, following a postponement during last week’s proceedings.

The case has gained significant traction on social media, with many calling for justice and stronger protection for children. It has also drawn the attention of government leaders, including Sisisi Tolashe.

Gauteng Social Development MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko is expected to join community members outside the court, further reinforcing support for the victim’s family.

The gathering reflects growing public demand for accountability and justice, as well as the need to address gender-based violence and protect vulnerable members of society.
