Rapist, robber, and burglar, the 29-year-old Thembelani Ncube was convicted and sentenced to 38 years imprisonment in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ court.
Ncube was convicted of crimes he committed between 2011 and 2014 around the Muldersdrift policing precinct.
In one of these incidents, in 2013, a 45-year-old victim was attacked in her home. She was asleep in her bedroom at a plot in Nooitgedacht, Muldersdrift area.
Three armed men entered her house and a firearm was pointed at the victim. The three suspects demanded money and other items.
Ncube first raped her and then doused her with a kettle of boiling water. The victim sustained severe injuries.
According to Muldersdrift police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, “These men continued with their rampage for quite some time in Muldersdrift and other areas.”
The case dockets were allocated to Sergeant Sam Manana who worked tirelessly, conducting meetings with members of the public and followed all available leads.
Other cases are still pending against him and his accomplices. The Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Kgaogelo Seabi applauded the efforts and dedication that Detective Sergeant Sam Manama exhibited to achieve this outcome.
“No crime will be tolerated in Muldersdrift area,” said Lt Col Seabi.
