Motorcyclist in critical condition after accident

Motorcycle rider airlifted to hospital

An accident at the corner of Corlett Avenue and Ham Street, Witpoortjie left a motorcyclist in a critical condition.

The accident happened on 29 December at about 1:45pm. According to Frik van Zyl, spokesperson for the Western Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch (WSRNW) the motorcyclist was travelling on Corlett Avenue from Ontdekkers Road when he was involved in a collison with a red Jeep.

The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was stabilised on the scene by ER24, Netcare911 and Quick Response Services (QRS). He was then airlifted to Milpark Hospital by a Netcare911 helicopter.

The cause of the accident is unknown. Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) as well as SAPS were on scene and the incident will be investigated.
