The Record visited some of the schools in the Roodepoort area and caught some of the hustle and bustle on camera. The majority of the new learners were eager to start their new school day and, although some of them were a little uncertain, their minds were quickly put at ease by their teachers. Some of them were even brave enough to answer a few questions and display their writing and counting skills.
