Picnics, music and ice cream for Mother’s Day

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Little Jays Nursery School creates special bonding time for mothers and their children.

Little Jays Nursery School brought mothers and their little ones together for special bonding time before Mother’s Day.

The day kicked off on 12 May with the children singing a song to their moms. The song had been written by teachers of Little Jays and left few dry eyes among the mothers.

Every year the school finds a different activity which moms can do with their children. In the past, the activities included decorating shopping bags with hand prints or decorating cupcakes. This year moms and their children decorated cups of ice cream with sauces and sprinkles.

The morning ended with a picnic on the school lawns.

“This time is a special bonding time between mom and child, giving the moms an opportunity to chat with other moms. The feedback we get from our moms is always positive. They enjoy getting away from the rat race for an hour to focus solely on their child,” said principal at Little Jays, Janette McHugh.
