Roodepoort detective commended for successful conviction

His investigative work led to a successful conviction

 

A detective Sergeant from the Roodepoort Police Station was commended after his hard work and investigation resulted in a successful conviction.

According to Sergeant Juliet Mogale, the Roodepoort police spokesperson, the 25-year-old Sivusiso Masango was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment for housebreaking and theft. He was also found unfit to possess a firearm in terms of section 103 of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000.

“The investigating officer, detective Sergeant Mofokeng, did his best to ensure the accused remained in jail until the investigation was finalised. He went on trial and was found guilty on 11 October. The station commander applauded the excellent work done by the officer,” she said.
