Tip off leads to drug arrest in Florida

On the morning of 31 January members from the Florida Police arrested a 24-year-old man for drug possession and drug dealing.

While on routine patrol in the area, an anonymous tip off of an unknown male selling drugs on Goldman Street, Florida was received.

The police followed up on the information received, and identified the male fitting the description.

“When the suspect saw the police he ran away immediately and the officers gave chase, cornering him on Goldman Street. He was holding a yellow plastic bag. Upon searching the plastic bag, the police officers found 102 ziplock bags containing substances suspected to be drugs as well as three more plastic containers containing the same substances,” said Sergeant Mpho More, Florida Police spokesperson.

The suspect was detained at Florida Police Station and will be appearing in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
