Another three people have lost their lives along Christiaan de Wet Road this morning, 10 February.

A truck travelling through the notoriously narrow Allen’s Nek pass between Clearwater Mall and Wilgerood Road was the only vehicle involved, and all three occupants died on the scene. Indications are that the driver lost control of the truck before losing its load and striking the unforgiving rocks that line the pass. The road has been closed and commuters are asked to use an alternate route.

Alett Reed of Emer-G-Med confirmed, “Unfortunately the driver and his two passengers were all killed in the accident. The cabin was crushed on impact and sadly all three were declared dead at the scene.”

The exact cause of the incident in unknown and is currently under investigation.
