Local security provider BCI Security posted on its Facebook page that it has noted with concern the peaking numbers in gate motor theft in the area.
The company reminded residents that gate motors have been popular among thieves for a long time.
“These criminals prey on residents who do not have security around their motors. Please secure your gate motor with an anti-theft bracket,” BCI suggested.
However, the company quickly cautioned that brackets do not guarantee that the gate motor will not be stolen, but that they are a big deterrent as criminals would need to spend time trying to access it.
