Nothing compares in value to that of a child’s life and any nightmare hijacking scenario is compounded when a child is sitting in the back seat. Unconfirmed reports suggest that a silver Volkswagen Tiguan was the target of an attempted hijacking in Witpoortjie on Tuesday 28 July.
Fortunately, the criminals decided against carrying out the deed when they discovered the vehicle was transporting children. The thieves are said to have fled the Bataan Street scene empty-handed and no injuries were reported. Police have been approached for further information but none has been forthcoming at this stage.
