An act of kindness from Welties girls

Also present on the day were Michael Steyn and Jon Rosenberg from the Honeydew CPF who applauded the good gesture by the Weltevreden Park Primary School learners.

On Monday, 27 July two Weltevreden Park Primary School learners, Micaella De Andrade and Mutembo Nsofu handed over parcels of goodies to the Honeydew Police Station as a sign of their appreciation for their hard work during these difficult times.

This act of kindness formed part of a school project for which goodies were collected for Honeydew Police in partnership with the Honeydew CPF.

The parcels were accepted by Captain Balan Muthan of Honeydew Police Station who introduced the young good Samaritans to the on-duty men in blue.

“Such acts of kindness from our young community members are always heart-warming to witness, and provide encouragement to our officers to know that they are appreciated,” said Muthan.

Also present on the day were Michael Steyn and Jon Rosenberg from the Honeydew CPF who applauded the good gesture by the Weltevreden Park Primary School learners.

“It’s always great to see community involvement when it comes to the police members. During the Covid-19 pandemic it has really been difficult for the police as a lot of them work in difficult situations. A small gesture like what these two young ladies did today really goes a long way. It’s great to see community members from a young age getting involved and supporting our CPF members,” said Steyn.

Micaella and Mutembo revealed to the Northsider how excited they were to be able to collect and hand over the parcels to their heroes who are on the frontline of a difficult situation in the country.

“It feels good to make a small difference and do something good for the people who sacrifice a great deal for the safety of our community,” said the talkative Micaella.

Mutembo said she loved the feeling of excitement that came with knowing that you have just made someone smile by showing them that you care and appreciate them.
