Honeydew Police were called to the scene and the suspect was arrested for malicious damage to property and theft.

Cable thieves were stopped in their tracks on Wednesday, 12 August when members of the community alerted Apcan Reaction members to two people who were busy stripping the copper from a property on Fredenharry Road in Strubens Valley.

The reaction officers searched the premises and found a man in the kitchen stripping the copper wiring from the walls. He allegedly had parts of the stove he had already stripped in his possession.

Honeydew Police were called to the scene and the suspect was arrested for malicious damage to property and theft.

Local Community Policing Forums advised the community always to be on the lookout and be vigilant during these times of increased criminal activity.
