Latest update on Video informal settlement protests
The protest action is believed to be associated with the act by Eskom, Police and Red Ants who have switched off the main power supply line affecting a large section of Muldersdrift whilst they remove illegal connections in the informal settlements.
The traffic on the N14 near Video informal settlement is reported to be flowing freely again in both directions, and Beyers Naudé Drive M5 over the N14 is also clear.
Some motorists have raised some concerns on the possibility of rocks being thrown at cars from the bridge over the highway.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Setlhare, the current situation on the N14 near Video informal settlement is calm but tense. Though there are police in the area, motorists should use the road with caution.
