The beauty industry is thriving, and as long as women want to look and feel good, there will always be a demand for beauty therapists.

This industry is filled with possibility, and the chance to learn and grow as styles and trends constantly evolve. The opportunities are limitless, with qualifications allowing you a stepping stone into industries such as salons, cruise liners and resorts, television, teaching, blogging and beauty-related PR. The entrepreneurial opportunities are also omnipresent and exceptionally rewarding.

Beauty school is the best first step, and the Blush Beauty Academy is the perfect environment to learn make-up, special effects, beauty therapy and hairdressing. Based at 311 Ontdekkers Road in Ontdekkers Park, the academy focuses on teaching all the skills to help you grow into an exceptional beauty professional.

As the only Kryolan-endorsed beauty school in Africa, Blush is able to teach their students the most up-to-date, international trends and techniques. Blush is also accredited, offering valid and recognised qualifications issued by several awarding bodies. All course fees include international examinations and registration, relevant beauty kits, uniforms and textbooks, with no hidden costs.

Blush Academy puts their focus on quality education, and as such, they show immense care for their students and provide classes that are small enough for each student to get the individual attention they need. Our Story
MC & Louise van der Merwe has been in the industry for 20 years during which time they were the successful owners of a make-up & hairdressing school for 16 years. They decided to make a break from the franchise they were part of to start a new academy with a new vision and mission:
To train quality professional make-up artists, beauty therapists and hairdressers on international up to date standards.
They decided to move away from the general business model of mass training and rather focus on bringing quality experience and unique world-class training to their students, investing in their futures and making sure their students are equipped to handle the modern-day industry.
