Muthan added that the value of stolen items is unknown.

A business situated at a centre in Weltevreden Park was hit by robbers in the early hours of Monday, 30 November.

Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, who confirmed an investigation into the matter, said a 40-year-old reported for duty at 7.30am to find that the business had been robbed.

The armed robbery is reported to have taken place at about 4am at Takealot in Hillfox Shopping Centre, Weltevreden Park.

“It is alleged that four thugs dressed in company uniform entered the building pretending to be staff. They then threatened other staff members with firearms and ordered them to load various boxes into their getaway vehicle, which was a white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter without registration,” Muthan explained.

Muthan added that the value of the stolen items is unknown. He also mentioned that no shots were fired and nobody was injured during the ordeal.
