Stolen goods recovered the same day

Upon inspection, officers found tools, batteries and cables, and apprehended two of three suspects.

The phrase ‘never lose hope’ is probably the new slogan a local robbery victim lives by after his stolen goods were recovered within a day.

The recovery is all thanks to BCI Security who helped find the stolen equipment before being transported away.

On Sunday, 29 November at about 6.05 am, a BCI Night Shift Manager was on his way to the office to book himself off when he encountered suspicious men loading heavy objects into a taxi. He called for backup.

Upon inspection, officers found tools, batteries and cables, and apprehended two of three suspects.

Later that morning, BCI reported that a non-client contacted them requesting their K9 unit to search his property as he had a break-in.

On arrival, the deployed unit was pointed to the direction of where the burglars had gained entry into the property.

One of the Operations Managers (M1) then escorted the complainant to Honeydew Police Station to check the stolen goods that were recovered earlier, and they were positively identified as his.
While the suspects were in detention and a case was being opened against them, BCI members assisted the Honeydew Police with searching for more stolen goods, and possibly the third suspect in Zandspruit informal settlement. The first premises searched was empty, but on searching the second premises, a 9mm magazine with one live round was found hidden in a plastic bag; however, there was no sign of the third suspect.

This is a developing story.
