Santa and his helpers bring Christmas cheer to Horison

Christmas came early for the children of Horison, when Santa and his helpers visited them on the evenings of 4 and 5 December.

The children of Horison received an early Christmas gift on 4 and 5 December, when Santa himself drove through the area on a make-shift sleigh to hand out sweets.

Santa’s beautifully decorated ride was escorted by members of the Roodepoort and Florida Police, and the Horison Blockwatch through the streets of Horison, where a couple of helpful elves ran up and down to houses handing out the sweets. Hearing the commotion outside, many excited children were patiently waiting at their gates with their parents before Santa even got to their street.

APCAN, Bhekani Abantu Security, Beagle Watch and the Ontdekkers Park Blockwatch helped keep the streets safe and blocked off while Santa made his way through the area spreading Christmas cheer. Everyone who took part in making the day possible drove and ran around the streets spreading as much Christmas cheer as they could.

The streets were filled with smiles and festive well-wishes as Santa’s convoy passed, and the happiness expressed by the children was incomparable.

The Horison Blockwatch thanked all role players involved and wished all of their members a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
