Local rapper talks new music and 2021 plans
Way Up will be released on Friday, 15 January. It follows TALK, which he released late last year and sought to create awareness and conscientise the masses about socio-economic issues plaguing Africa.
Monash South Africa alumnus Simbarashe ‘Simba’ Nembaware, also known as VOE4LIFE in the entertainment industry, is taking his music career up a notch this year after he finally completed his studies.
This conscious rapper, who has nothing standing in his way this year to prevent him from focusing on his music ambitions, has kicked off the year with news that he will be dropping a new single titled Way Up, which he says is a song of gratitude to the Most High.
“The song is a prayer thanking God for everything He has done for me, like allowing me to survive a broken jaw from a violent racial attack, to meet people who have had so much positive impact on my life, and being with me till I finished school with a double major degree in Marketing and Communications,” the rapper sporting long dreadlocks explained.
“The Trap or hip hop song has bars anyone can relate to and the perfect use of both the English and Shona languages to accommodate all listeners. It is a very authentic, original sound. Not only does it talk about me thanking God for my blessings, but it also talks of how ready I am to accomplish all my goals, no matter what it takes. If it is not the lyrics that will get you hooked, it is definitely the 808 bass and kicks – a beat produced by Mclaren,” said Simba, luring music enthusiasts to support the song.

Speaking of his plans for the year, he said, “I definitely have big plans for 2021. I spent the last three years working on new content, and now that I am finally done with school I will be dropping new music more often than I did in the past. I have a lot of good music of numerous genres coming out, starting this year.”
He also indicated that some of his plans will be announced as he gets closer to bringing each to life. “However, my main mission from this point onwards is to be consistent in my relationship with God and go harder than I have gone,” the faithful rapper concluded.
