Young Solve-It Squad winners all smiles after receiving prizes
“To the sponsors, keep up the good work and remain blessed.”
Puzzle building and problem solving are vital life skills and the children of Roodepoort have shown that our future is bright. The Record/ Northsider offices were flooded with entries for our December Solve-It Squad competition, as each young brainiac showed off their grey matter talents.

Six-year-old Little Falls resident, Kayleigh van den Berg, was the Northsider’s winner, receiving her toy hamper from Bethwell Mbele from Dorcas Aid, sponsors of the puzzle page. Even through her mask, Kayleigh’s face was alight with excitement as she identified the small teddy bear toys as her instant favourite.
Bandile Dube from Roodepoort North is the Record’s December Solve-It Squad winner. Jaco Roodt of Roodt Vleis lent his resources to the cause. “Thank you to everyone for all their support. We truly value our relationship with this great community,” said Jaco. Eleven-year-old Bandile and his proud mom, Sanelisiwe were overjoyed, saying, “Thank you so much for the prize, we really appreciate what you have done for us. To the sponsors, keep up the good work and remain blessed.”
