Dylan Diederiks and his family have been on the hunt for a new drum set as his current set-up was beginning to show signs that it had given all it had to give. In September last year, a BackaBuddy campaign was set up for Dylan in an attempt to raise funds for a new kit and the right set of circumstances have aligned to deliver the goods.

The family was shopping online for a new set when they identified the ideal offering. A private seller in Pretoria had the kit advertised from a price slightly outside of the Diederiks’ budget, but it proved to be a minor obstacle when weighed against the potential rewards. The Diederiks family put forward a strong case and the seller, guided by the spirit of rock, moved Dylan a step closer to stardom.

The now previous owner of the drum kit preferred not to share any of the limelight but Dylan and his family are incredibly appreciative of her generosity, not to mention all those who have donated to his BackaBuddy campaign.

The work does not stop here as recording equipment is next on the list, as well the studio currently being built in the family backyard. The road ahead is long but the magic of rock lights the way.
