The reopening of schools might be extended by the Department of Basic Education, but SPARK Schools is unfazed by this challenge.
This independent network of private schools rolled out 100 per cent remote learning to all their learners, starting on 20 January.
“Although remote learning at first is not easy for parents and learners, we try our best to offer support online and offline so that no valuable learning time is lost, and that no learner is left behind,” said Andile Shandu, the principal of SPARK Witpoortjie.
To ensure that this system is effective, Andile said they have also provided printed material to learners with no access to digital devices at home. The online course material was made available to everyone.
“We are confident and prepared for the 2021 school year, no matter what challenges come our way,” an optimistic Andile stated.
“We believe that high-quality, affordable education has the potential to change our nation for the better. At SPARK Schools, we are committed to nurturing learners who are responsible, persistent and kind, and who positively contribute to South Africa’s future,” she concluded.
