Man in his twenties sadly killed in Ruimsig head-on collision

“The young man was found still in the driver’s seat of his BMW showing no signs of life"

A two vehicle motor accident has sadly claimed the life of a young male yesterday, 5 February.

The driver of the white BMW collided head on with what was described as a tour bus on Hendrik Potgieter Road just before 11pm.

Paramedics arrived on scene and found that the man, believed to be in his twenties, had unfortunately suffered fatal injuries.

“The young man was found still in the driver’s seat of his BMW showing no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead,” confirmed ER24 Communications Officer, Russel Meiring.

The driver of the tour bus, who is believed to be in his thirties, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby private hospital.

“He was treated using Advanced Life Support interventions before the services on hand managed to extricate him,” explained Meiring.

Police and Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department were on scene and the incident is currently under investigation.
