Glass and debris strewn across Ontdekkers Road in violent morning accident
“All the patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further care.”
Multiple vehicles and two pedestrians were involved in a serious collision along Ontdekkers Road on 17 February.
The mayhem occurred just before 7.30am during the Wednesday morning commute and involved two light motor vehicles and a motorbike. A total of six people were affected, with one woman being trapped inside the vehicle that had rolled onto its side. The woman was found to be in a serious condition and was cut from her vehicle with specialised equipment.

The driver of the motorbike also sustained serious injuries, as did his passenger. The driver received advanced life support and his passenger was treated for a suspected fractured arm before they were both taken to hospital. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported and the remaining patients were all treated on scene for moderate to minor injuries before being taken to nearby hospitals for further assessment.

Netcare 911, ER24, Emer-G-Med as well as City of Johannesburg Emergency Medical Services were all on scene while Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department were present to conduct their investigations.
