Parcels stolen during courier vehicle robbery in Honeydew

“Three reaction vehicles, T1, R4 and M1 were dispatched. T1 stood off first. However, at the time of arrival it was discovered that the robbers had already fled the scene,” Quinton Young of BCI Security said.

Another courier vehicle was robbed in the Honeydew area on Wednesday morning, 17 February.

BCI Security, who attended the scene, received information at approximately 10.30am about the courier robbery in progress in front of a complex on Glover Road near Zandspruit informal settlement.

“Three reaction vehicles, T1, R4 and M1 were dispatched. T1 stood off first. However, at the time of arrival it was discovered that the robbers had already fled the scene,” Quinton Young of BCI Security said.

“According to the information we obtained, there were two [getaway] vehicles and about eight robbers who took an undisclosed number of parcels,” he added.

No injuries were reported.

“Honeydew Police and various other security companies were also on the scene. A case has been opened with Honeydew Police Station,” he concluded.
