Man trapped in a vehicle during afternoon collision in Newlands

Specialized equipment needed to be used to free a 30-year-old man who was trapped in his car during a motor vehicle collision this afternoon, 28 February. 

A quiet Sunday afternoon turned into a traumatic experience for a 30-year-old man who got trapped in his car after being involved in a motor vehicle collision shortly after 1pm today, 28 February. 

At approximately 1.05pm, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 8th Street and Main Road in Newlands to find two cars on the side of the road. One of the vehicle occupants was discovered trapped in his car. Provincial Emergency Management Services (EMS) needed to use specialized equipment to free the trapped man. Once the victim was freed, he was provided with pain relief medication and transferred to the hospital for further care.
