The busy intersection of South Africa Drive and Angola Avenue in Cosmo City was the scene of a hectic freak accident when a truck carrying bricks, cement and sand overturned this past weekend.
This delivery truck was apparently turning into South Africa Drive when an unexpected mechanical fault caused it to lose its load.

According to one of the truck’s crew members at the scene, the truck’s steering wheel jammed while it was in motion, resulting in the driver losing control and the truck landing on its side.Only one crew member sustained injuries.
The accident caused huge congestion as the truck and its load blocked both lanes.
Help24 was dispatched to the scene to lift the truck and remove it from the road; however, the weight was a bit of a challenge for the tow truck and some manpower was needed to get it back onto its wheels.
No law enforcement was present while the Northsider was on the scene.
