Ground premium roasts, deep bass and the tranquility of nature are propelling artists down the cycle path of enlightenment.
CND Studio and Concept Store is the brainchild of 4th Avenue resident, Tshepo Selepe, and is serving as a growing hub of community regeneration. Together with his unification of creative talent via his digital platform, Art On Wax Concepts, Tshepo is using both to draw enthusiastic moths to his flame of incandescent positivity.
One spoke in the wheel of urban transformation is a weekly bicycle ride through the streets of Roodepoort. Tshepo has been gathering exuberant followers to his headquarters of collaborative change early on Saturday mornings for a coffee kick start followed by a leisurely cycle. The crew wind their way through Georginia and Hamberg to Florida Lake, where they take in the morning lakeside scenery, before making their way back.
A roughly 10km round trip is concluded with a chill session at CND, where they serve delicious kotas, beverages and snacks all wrapped up in the ambiance of deep house music. “The ride is always great. It challenges you as an individual to actually conquer your fears, and we always make sure we vibrate positive vibes. Bearing in mind that it is not a race but a tour/ bootcamp which teaches a lot about patience and team work while we get to enjoy the beautiful landscapes that Jah has given to us,” said Tshepo, extending an open invitation to anyone who wishes to join.
Riders assemble every Saturday morning from 7am and if one does not have a bicycle, one can be arranged for hire through Tshepo. Founded on the essential fuels of food, nature and music, Tshepo is feeding both bodies and souls.
