Singing sensation delights in her live radio station debut
Roodepoort North resident Storm Venter gets invited to sing live on Mix93.8 FM
The bigger the platform the heavier the pressure, but those born to perform nonchalantly breeze through.
Roodepoort North songstress Storm Venter is taking the incremental steps needed to go from singing in her bedroom in front of the mirror to headlining international concerts. The National School of Arts-bound thespian had the opportunity to grace the radio airwaves of alternative and classic rock station, Mix93.8 FM, 17 March. Listeners were treated to Storm’s rendition of The Cranberries’ anti-war masterpiece, Zombie.
The young lady charmed the in-studio talent that included sports presenter Chris Fletcher and broadcasting legend, Darren Scott, before unleashing her vocal chords. “It was exciting but at the same time very scary and nerve-wracking. I kind of felt like I was going to faint because I was very scared. Even during the performance my hands were shaking. To make it less nerve-wracking I closed my eyes so that it would feel like I was at home,” said Storm of her live studio debut.
“Mix 93.8 FM would like to thank Storm for gracing us with her harmonic voice live on the Just Plain Drive Show – what a treat that was. We as Mix93.8 FM would like to wish this brave young lady all the best that life has to offer. We pride ourselves in supporting local talent and Storm was just the breath of fresh air our airwaves needed,” said the station’s Programme Manager, Sanny Mlotana.
Despite a gruelling 2020, Storm’s father Sean has pulled out all the stops to ensure that his precious prodigy’s pathway to prominence is clear of any unnecessary obstacles. “Thanks again to you and to everyone for your support,” said Sean.
Still in the infancy of her pursuit of stardom, Storm is primed to make every opportunity count.
