Suspects still on the loose after Thursday’s courier robbery in Florida

Public warned to always plan ahead when expecting courier deliveries at home.

Whether through luxury or necessity, the convenience of home delivery comes with inherent dangers that need to be mitigated.

Two armed men held up a red and white delivery van just after noon on the Thursday before the Easter weekend, 1 April. “The complainant and his crew were on Madeline Street, with a courier dropping the parcel at the client’s gate. They were accosted by two unknown males, one of whom drew his weapon on the delivery men,” confirmed Florida Police spokesperson, Sergeant Mpho More.

Fortunately, there were no injuries but the suspects fled the scene in a blue Kia Picanto – of which the registration number was not recorded by witnesses – making off with the courier vehicle’s keys and cellphones. Anyone with any additional information on the vehicle or potential suspects is asked to please contact Florida Police as soon as possible.
