Congratulations to March’s Solve-It Squad winners
The winners went home with a thick recipe book and colourful baking equipment and decorating tools; a prize even adults would have enjoyed.
The monthly Solve-It Squad pages in the Record and Northsider newspapers have been a huge hit with our younger readers since they were first published in September 2020.
Every month, our youngest local geniuses fight it out to solve the puzzles and hopefully win some amazing prizes. In March, the battle for the prize was as tight as it has ever been, and looking at the prize, you can see why.
The winners went home with a thick recipe book and colourful baking equipment and decorating tools; a prize even adults would have enjoyed.

The winners for the Roodepoort Record’s March Solve-It Squad were twin sisters, Mia and Alyssa Heyns from Laerskool Dr Havinga. They were overjoyed when they found out they had won. Mia and Alyssa work on the monthly puzzle pages together and now, they will have something to keep them busy during the school holidays. When the twins came to fetch their prize, all they wanted to do was go home and use it.
The lucky winner for the Roodepoort Northsider’s Solve-It Squad page was Asthalina Tuscano, a young Honeydew Ridge resident. Asthalina was over the moon when she found out that she had won. She said she loves the Solve-It Squad because they are always challenging and fun. She sits down with her mother on a Sunday and the two work together to complete the activity page.
If your child wants to be our next lucky winner, be sure to keep your eye out for the next Solve-It Squad activity page and send in your entries.
