Seven people appeared in court after a successful drug raid by Muldersdrift Police and specialised units. The raid took place on 22 April in Russell Road where the suspects were subsequently arrested and charged with possession of narcotics.
The penalties for possession of drugs in South Africa can result in a prison sentence of up to 15 years or more, with the severity of the penalty dependent on whether or not the suspect is a repeat offender.
Residents are also reminded that they can give anonymous tip-offs to the police if they are aware of any criminal activity in their community.
