West Rand’s Little Miss SA 2020 hands over her crown
"Mariela is a great ambassador and we are very proud of her. She will be representing South Africa in Los Angeles in 2022."
The King’s School West Rand learner, Mariela Romanelli who was crowned Little Miss South Africa 2020 on 12 October last year looked second to none as she handed over her crown to the new Little Miss South Africa 2021 after a very difficult year.
The title earned Mariela numerous prizes including a fully paid trip to Hollywood in California in the USA, where she represented her country at The World Championships of Performing Arts 2020.
Although she is only 11 years old, the Grade 5 learner is no stranger to pageantry as she already has a long list of accomplishments, one of them being crowned Miss Randfontein Junior 2019.
Other past achievements include Miss Mad Rage Winner 2017; Miss Junior Province Overall 2018; Miss Province Gauteng 2018; Little Miss Elite South Africa 2018 and Miss Million Dollar 2018.
“Mariela is a great ambassador and we are very proud of her. She will be representing South Africa in Los Angeles in 2022.
“She makes us think of Queen Esther who was born for a specific time – to be an ambassador for her nation, just as God had planned it.
“The same goes for this girl; she has been born for a time such as this, to be an ambassador for our nation, but also for His Kingdom,” said The King’s School West Rand marketing manager, Michelle Dos Ramos.
The school also congratulated her coach and teacher, Mercia Swanepoel for all her efforts with Performing Arts and Drama training.
