Police confirm armed robberies

Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan confirmed the incident to the Northsider and indicated that an investigation is under way.

On Tuesday, 11 May an armed robbery at Cash Converters in Hillfox Centre, Weltevreden Park was reported at the Honeydew Police Station.

It is alleged that an unknown number of thugs got away in a white BMW, a white Corolla, and a blue Corolla after robbing the retail pawnbroker.

Honeydew Victim Support was on scene to assist the people affected by the crime and traumatic event with free and confidential support.

Unconfirmed reports of an armed robbery at Garden World on Beyers Naudé Drive, Muldersdrift were also received. Reportedly, six armed robbers entered the property and took off with electronic equipment.
