Female dies after hit by a motor vehicle on the N1 highway
Patient revived by paramedics but sadly succumbs to injuries in hospital
A 22-year old female pedestrian has sadly been killed crossing the N1 highway just after the Albertina Sisulu Road onramp.
The young female was struck by a light motor vehicle a short while after 6.30am on 8 May. First responders arrived on the scene to find her badly injured body in the middle lane of the busy highway.
Unresponsive and not breathing, paramedics administered CPR and advanced life support to the critical female.
“The patient was revived at this point and rushed to Helen Joseph Hospital for further treatment. She un, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries later in the day,” confirmed ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring.
Johannesburg Metro Police were on scene with the driver of the vehicle and the incident is under investigation.
