Vehicle stripped in broad daylight

The owner of the vehicle had gone cycling, and when he returned, he found that his vehicle had been stripped of its lights and front bumper

A white Range Rover was stripped of its lights and front bumper in Driefontein on 5 June. According to reports, security guards were alerted when one of the suspects left.

Operations manager for Interactive Security, Renier de Meyer said the owner of the vehicle had parked it and gone cycling, and when he returned, he found that his vehicle had been stripped.

“I suspect it is a syndicate working on orders. Nobody is stealing bumpers and lights for keepsake. The nearby cycling route makes that area an easy target, especially on weekends when there are a lot of people,” he said.

The number of suspects involved is currently unknown, however, it is imperative that residents keep their possessions safe and park in secure locations.
