One person killed in collision with a taxi on Randfontein Road

Thirteen occupants of the taxi treated by paramedics on the scene

The driver of a light motor vehicle has been killed in a collision with a minibus taxi on Saturday, 12 June. The two vehicles were travelling on Randfontein Road when the accident occurred in the vicinity of Nick Toomey Boulevard at roughly 8pm. 

Paramedics arrived on scene to find that sadly the driver of the light motor vehicle had already succumbed to their injuries. The thirteen occupants of the minibus taxi sustained a variety of minor and moderate injuries and were treated on scene, some needing additional treatment at a nearby hospital.

The details around the cause of the accident are unknown but authorities were on scene and the incident is under investigation.
