Elderly at Harveston Retirement Village receive vaccine

The first dose of the Covid vaccine was administered without a glitch at Harveston Retirement Village.

The elderly at Harveston Retirement Village were in jovial spirits on Friday, June 18 as they received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. This is part of the government’s second phase to vaccinate citizens over the age of 60.

The vaccination process at the retirement village that began at midday moved with ease as forms were filled, residents were injected, and kept for the required 15 minutes of observation.

“We are scared to go out and we are very restricted. I feel relieved,” Joan Currie said after receiving her jab.

Several other residents also expressed relief and said they hoped this would bring some normality back into their lives. Residents are expected to receive the second dose after 42 days.
