Wings of Inspiration host successful golf day

On June 3, the Wings of Inspiration Care Centre hosted their first fundraising Golf Day at the Ruimsig Country Club.

The Wings of Inspiration Care Centre is a Helderkruin-based non-profit organisation that has been helping people throughout the West Rand and Mpumalanga since their inception.

Through their initiatives, this organisation does everything they can to make sure that struggling community members receive some much-needed help. The NPO is run by three friendly, community-orientated people, namely Anthea Da Costa, Kirsten Richardson, and Shane Peyper. These siblings have worked exceptionally hard and now run an elderly care centre in Randfontein, a sober house in Roodepoort, a women and children’s shelter, daycare centre and soup kitchen in Krugersdorp, and a play school in Mpumalanga.

On June 3, the organisation hosted a fundraising golf day at the Ruimsig Country Club, and the day was a tremendous success. The NPO expressed their gratitude for the amazing response of sponsorships, and the 23 teams who played a round of golf in support of their organisation.

Through their impressive sponsorships, the winners for the day received some spectacular prizes, including R5 000 holidays, R12 500 vouchers, wine, advanced driving courses, and date nights.

“For our first golf day, I think it was a great success,” said Anthea. “You don’t have to be a professional golfer to play at a charity golf day – it’s all about fun,” she continued.

All the money raised on the day will be used to help keep their initiatives running so that they can reach even more people with their good work.
