Registration now open for 50s and older
Residents of 50 years and older can now register for the Covid vaccine.
July 1 is D-day for people over 50 years old to register for the Covid-19 vaccine. According to the government announcement, the vaccination rollout is expected to begin on July 15. Registration can be done on the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) as follows:
• Online at vaccine.enroll.gov.za
• Using the WhatsApp line 0600 123456
• Via SMS by dialling *134*832#
• Call the Covid-19 hotline on 0800 029 999
• Use the new QR code by simply scanning and following the prompts
People of 60 and above are still eligible and are urged to continue registering or visiting vaccination sites to receive their jab. Safety measures such as mask wearing and observing social distancing are still mandatory in public spaces.
