Distracted for just a second

Emergency Control, Joburg West Unit responded to a motor vehicle accident between 14th Avenue and Gordon Road on Thursday July 1. According to spokesperson Abby Janse van Rensburg, the driver reached down to get her glasses after they had fallen and when she looked up, she crashed into the back of a truck.

“There was only one patient on the scene, which was the driver of the vehicle. She thankfully only sustained minor injuries,” she explained. The victim was taken to the hospital by her family members for further treatment.

“Emergency Control safety members acted quickly to make the scene safe as that stretch of road is dangerous, especially at night,” Janse van Rensburg concluded.
